Granite

Granite is the rock most often quarried as a “dimension stone”, a natural rock material that has been cut into blocks or slabs of specific length, width and thickness.

Granite is hard enough to resist most abrasion, strong enough to bear significant weight, inert enough to resist weathering and it accepts a brilliant polish. These characteristics make it a very desirable and useful dimension stone.

Granite is frequently selected because it is a prestige material, used in projects to produce impressions of elegance, durability and lasting quality.

Granite has almost negligible porosity, ranging between 0.2% and 4% making it ideal for countertops; a truly beautiful and natural stone with a huge array of colours to choose from.

Definition 1:

A very hard, natural igneous rock formation, of visibly crystalline texture formed essentially of quartz and orthoclase or microcline and used for building and for monuments.

Definition 2:

Unyielding firmness or endurance. Granite characteristics include strength and durability. This unique and elegant natural stone is one of the oldest, hardest and strongest stones available and every piece holds it’s own story.
